Raptors Athletics is one of 8 clubs which make up Arapahoe Youth League. For more than 45 years, the AYL has provided the premier competitive sports league in the Denver Metro Area. The Raptors serve Castle Rock, Castle Pines, Larkspur & Sedalia, feeding into Castle View, Douglas County and Rock Canyon High Schools. Our club offers Girls Flag Football Grades 3-8th
Registration will open March 1, 2026.
Tentative Schedule - Practices will start the first week of August.
Games will be played in September and the first week of October, with a playoff day on the second week of October.
Our teams typically play an 8-game season followed by playoffs and hopefully a trip to the championship game.
We practice in Castle Rock at local fields and parks.

Jersey Cost is $50.
Does not include, shorts or cleats. Flags are provided.
We will be using the same jerseys as last year. Only new players need to purchase a jersey.

Any girl in 1st - 8th grade for the next school year.
Teams will be formed by combining grades 1st/2nd, 3rd/4th, 5th/6th and 7th/8th.

Who may participate in Flag Football?

When is the season?
Practices begin the first week of August. Teams will practice 1-2 times per week (coach dependent).
Games will be played for 5 weeks starting in September on Sundays. Single elimination play offs/championships will be in October.
Games may be moved if necessary for inclement weather.
How much does Flag Football Cost?
The cost for Raptors Flag Football can change from year-to-year primarily based on our field provider’s adjustments in field usage fees. The cost to play girls flag football in 2026 is $350 per child if registered and paid in full prior to closing registration or age groups reaching capacity.
Late registration begins on July 1 however, we anticipate selling out early. Any registration and or payment received after July 1st will only be placed on a roster if space is available. Once we reach capacity we will move late registers and unpaid registrants to a waitlist. After the deadline Raptors assesses a late fee of an additional $50 per child. Players registering late are only placed on a team if space is available. Registrations must be paid in full to be placed on a roster.
Registration without a payment does not "hold" a spot on any roster.
When does Registration Occur?
Online individual registration for Raptors Girl's Flag Football opens March 1st and closes June 30, 2025.
Registration may close early based on number of registrations and capacity. Registration is on a first come first serve basis.
Late fees ($50) are assigned to any registration beginning July 1, 2025.
What does the registration fee cover?
The fee covers many items including but not limited to: Registration costs which are league fees, insurance costs, coach background checks, permits, coaching and practice equipment. Practice costs such as practice field usage and footballs Game costs such as field permits, official’s costs, website scheduling, etc. Raptors operating expenses such as bank fees, credit card fees, administration costs, copying, postage, etc.

What equipment will I need to provide?
Your child will need to have cleats and a mouthguard, in addition to comfortable clothing to wear during practices & games. The uniform provided will consist of a jersey & flags
Where, when and how often is practice?
The Raptors pay for permits for practice fields primarily from The Town of Castle Rock, Douglas County Parks & Recreation and Douglas County Schools. Typically, all of our practice fields are located near Castle Rock. Teams will be given 1-2 practices per week with the practice times being 5pm to 8pm during the week. The start and end time for practices are determined by the Raptors and generally takes in to account the coaches work schedule and field availability. Generally practices are 90 minutes long.
Who can be a coach?
Anyone can apply to be a head coach. The head coach will appoint his/her own assistant coaches. The process involves filling out an application, undergoing a background check, and completing an interview with the Raptors representatives. All Raptors coaches are required to attend any mandated AYL coach trainings/meetings and are encouraged to attend any local coaching clinics if they can as well. All Raptors coaches must go through the mandatory concussion training offered free online which is required by state law. What if my child decides she does not want to play after signing up?
All of Raptors Athletics fees are non-refundable. If your child no longer wants to play, please let us know so we can remove them from the roster.
No refunds will be issued. Registration insurance is recommended and available during registration.
